Estate Planning, Trust and Estate Administration, Probate
Holly helps clients all over Tennessee prepare for the future, protect their families, and create lasting legacies by providing comprehensive, quality estate planning services at The Hurley Law Firm, P.C.
As a certified Personal Family Lawyer®, Holly serves as a trusted advisor to her clients, educating and empowering them to make informed decisions throughout their life that will keep their loved ones out of court and out of conflict and serve their families for generations to come.
Holly grew up in Knoxville, attending Sequoyah Elementary and Webb School, before leaving for undergraduate studies at The University of Mississippi. After college, she earned a law degree at Mississippi College School of Law, and upon graduation, Holly returned to Knoxville in 2013 to begin practicing law at The Hurley Law Firm, P.C.
For several years, she practiced litigation as an associate with the firm, including probate litigation. She represented many clients who were embattled in lawsuits against other family members, disputing over the estate of a loved one. The more she witnessed families end up in court and in conflict with one another after the passing of a family member, the more she realized that many cases could be avoided if the decedent had proper planning in place.
Unfortunately and far too often, people get cookie-cutter estate planning documents that they sign and then put in a desk, check "estate plan" off their to-do list, and then never think about it again. What results from that scenario are estate plans that don't get updated over time as things change, assets don't get titled in the right way, and the plans often fail.
Holly set out to develop a comprehensive, quality estate planning practice that allows her to provide a relationship-based service through which she guides her clients to make empowered legal decision for the benefit of themselves and their loved ones.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, she began offering her estate planning services virtually, and is now able to serve clients all across the state of Tennessee.
Holly splits her time between Knoxville and New York City, with her dog in tow. In her free time, you can find her hopping on a plane to a new destination, cooking her way through the latest cookbook, getting lost in an art museum or scoping out the best jazz bar in town.
